Our Pearls

Pearl Types
At La Perle, we celebrate the natural beauty and diversity of pearls, each one a masterpiece born from the heart of the ocean or the calm of a freshwater lake. Every pearl tells a unique story, shaped by the oyster that nurtured it and the environment in which it thrived. This individuality makes each pearl as distinct and extraordinary as the person who wears it. We are proud to offer an exquisite collection of jewellery featuring a stunning array of pearls, each with its own character and charm.

Pearl Quality
At La Perle, we celebrate the natural beauty and diversity of pearls, each one a masterpiece born from the heart of the ocean or the calm of a freshwater lake. Every pearl tells a unique story, shaped by the oyster that nurtured it and the environment in which it thrived. This individuality makes each pearl as distinct and extraordinary as the person who wears it. We are proud to offer an exquisite collection of jewellery featuring a stunning array of pearls, each with its own character and charm.

Lustre
Lustre is a defining characteristic of a pearl, representing its shine and depth. The quality of the lustre is influenced by the surface smoothness and the thickness and uniformity of the nacre. Typically, the thicker the nacre, the greater the brilliance and reflective quality of the pearl.
Nacre Thickness
The thickness of the nacre is a key factor in determining a pearl’s quality, durability, and longevity. Nucleated pearls with thicker nacre have been cultured for longer periods, resulting in a more resilient and lustrous pearl that shines with enduring beauty.

Shape
Although perfectly round pearls are highly prized, pearls come in many unique shapes. Baroque pearls, with their distinctive, irregular forms, are loved for their individual charm, while teardrop pearls offer a refined elegance with their delicate, graceful profile.
Size
Pearl size is measured by its diameter in millimetres. Whether you prefer a subtle, smaller pearl or a bold, larger statement piece, the right size enhances both your style and the overall aesthetic of your jewellery.

Colour
La Perle pearls are available in a wide array of natural colours, including white, cream, pink, silver, lavender, and gold. Pearls with a more uniform and consistent colour are generally considered of higher quality, with rich, even hues often being the most coveted in fine jewellery.
